Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks ~Howard Miller Clock Company – founded in 1926 as the Herman Miller Clock Company. It was then a division of Herman Miller’s furniture company and was later on managed and renamed after Herman’s son Howard C. Miller in 1937. Clocks are very consistent from one to the next and are of high quality using Kieninger movements from Germany.
Ridgeway Grandfather Clocks ~ Purchased by Howard Miller in November 2004.
Ridgeway was formerly named The Gravely Furniture. Their grandfather clocks started exclusive production in 1960 in Ridgeway, Virginia, making them the oldest company to continuously produce grandfather clocks in the United States. They are now made in Zeeland, MI.
Hermle Grandfather Clocks ~ founded by Franz Hermle nearly 100 years ago in the Black Forest. Hermle Clock Company is one of the worlds lead manufacturer of German grandfather clocks. German and Chinese cases with real German movements. More recently in 2013 Hermle has started to build clocks in the United States in Amherst Virginia that are of high quality in limited numbers.
Grandfather Clock Factories that have Closed
Bulova Grandfather Clocks ~ named after Joseph Bulova, it is founded and incorporated as the J. Bulova Company in 1875 and was reincorporated under the Bulova Watch Company in 1923.
Sligh Grandfather Clocks – Sligh Furniture Co. phased out of its Holland manufacturing and its clock business by the end of 2005. Holland employment was reduced by about 75 people, primarily in the fall of 2005.

Edward Meyer – manufactures a wide selection of small, subsize grandfather clocks with low prices that look decent on the surface, but really cheap inside. The Edward Meyer brand is manufactured in China and distributed in the United States mostly online and EBAY.
